Energy Assurance Program

Access to reliable and affordable energy is essential in today's world, where energy shortages can produce significant economic loss, jeopardize public safety and welfare, and interfere with the delivery of critical government services. The Energy Assurance Program collaborates with state agencies and the private sector to develop effective responses to energy emergencies and to help ensure that energy resources are available during adverse conditions.

The Energy Assurance Program works to enhance relationships and provide education and outreach so North Carolina can quickly recover from an energy disruption. The program also shares information about the development and deployment of Smart Grid Technologies.
