Public Comment Period: Preliminary Determination Regarding an Air Quality Permit Application for ATI Specialty Materials, LLC - Bakers Plant

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Air Quality hereby gives notice that the following facility has applied for a permit to modify the facility’s classification from Synthetic Minor to Title V due to a proposed expansion of operations.

ATI Specialty Materials, LLC - Bakers Plant
6400 Alloy Way (Melt Facility)
3750 Alloy Way (Super Alloy Facility)

This facility's application for the proposed facility was reviewed by the DAQ to determine compliance with the requirements of the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission air pollution regulations. This notice serves as a notice of opportunity for public comment for this proposal. The public comment period begins on June 5, 2026 and will run through July 6, 2026.

A copy of all data and the application submitted by ATI Specialty Materials, LLC - Bakers Plant and other material used by the DAQ in making this preliminary determination are available for public inspection on the NCDEQ/DAQ website or during normal business hours at the following locations:

After weighing relevant comments received and other available information on the project, the DAQ will act on the ATI Specialty Materials, LLC - Bakers Plant application.
