Research and Site Access
Project Planning
If you are planning a project that contemplates work in a conservation easement you will need to obtain permission from the DEQ Stewardship Program prior to finalizing your plan and performing work within the conservation easement. See Obtaining Permission To Perform Work In A Conservation Easement for more information. Questions regarding the encroachment process may be directed by email to stewardship@deq.nc.gov or by phone at 919-707-8536.
Site Access
The majority of the properties in our program are conservation easements held on private properties. If you are interested in conducting research on one of our properties you must obtain permission from the private landowner and also obtain a Right of Entry from our program. The first step to obtaining a Right of Entry is to complete the Right of Entry Request Form. Please contact us by email at Carson.Wood@deq.nc.gov or by phone at 984-365-1744 for additional information.
Reports and Publications
A considerable amount of site study and data collection was performed on our conservation properties prior to acceptance into the program. These data and reports include geomorphic surveys, groundwater and surface water hydrology monitoring, vegetation surveys, biological assessments, and other studies. See the Mitigation Monitoring Reports. Requests for data can be made to Greg Melia at 919-707-8919 or by email to greg.melia@ncdenr.gov.
