CJ Jordan serves as DEQ's Chief of Staff. In this role, he focuses on priority initiatives and non-regulatory processes within the Department and works closely with the Chief Deputy Secretary on internal and operational support. In addition, CJ leads the Project Management Office, helping DEQ’s divisions oversee federal funding initiatives under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
Before coming to DEQ, CJ worked with the NC Office of Recovery and Resiliency, specifically with the ReBuild NC program. He brings experience leading teams focused on long-range planning, developing programs and systems to improve services, and managing complex projects end-to-end.
CJ received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Fayetteville State University and his Master of Public Administration from Arkansas State University.
