Notice of Intent to Issue a NPDES Wastewater Permit NC0088455 New Frontier Way Nanofiltration WTP The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue a NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publish date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit the DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604 to review the information on file. Additional information on NPDES permits and this notice may be found on our website:https://deq.nc.gov/public-notices-hearings or by calling (919) 707-3601. The City of Jacksonville applied to renew NPDES permit NC0088455 for New Frontier Way Nanofiltration WTP (177 New Frontier Way, Jacksonville) in Onslow County. This facility discharges to the New River in the White Oak River Basin. Currently total residual chlorine (TRC), total nitrogen, and total phosphorous are water quality limited. Governor Roy Cooper announced today that communities statewide will receive more than 238 million in water and wastewater infrastructure funding and stormwater planning grants to help pay for 114 projects in 52 counties statewide, including 28 construction projects.
The N.C. Sedimentation Control Commission will meet on Wednesday. Feb. 21, in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building, located at 512 N. Salisbury Street in Raleigh.
The State Water Infrastructure Authority will meet Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center in Raleigh. The public may attend in-person or listen to the meeting online or by phone.
