The current NPDES General Permits for Swine, Cattle and Poultry Animal Feeding Operations with liquid manure systems will expire June 30, 2017. The N.C. Division of Water Resources has developed three draft renewal permits. The public is invited to submit comments on the draft renewal permits. The public comment period closes at 5:00 p.m. Oct. 17, 2016.

August 31, 2016, 9pm

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing to accept comments on the draft NPDES wastewater permit for Duke Energy Progress LLC's Dan River Steam station. The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wed., Aug. 31 at the Eden City Hall, 308 East Stadium Dr., Eden, N.C. Speaker registration begins at 5 p.m.
