RALEIGH – The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission (EMC) will meet Wednesday and Thursday, July 13 and 14, 2022 in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building at 512 N. Salisbury St, Raleigh. Face coverings are optional for staff and attendees. There will be limited seating, and the public may also attend via remote access.
RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Resources (DWR) advises the public to avoid contact with green or blue water in Jordan Lake due to a potential algal bloom that was reported to the DWR Algal Bloom Dashboard on July 8, 2022. The potential bloom was reported to be present near the Farrington boat ramp in Chatham County.
N.C. Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Water Resources (DWR) has analyzed water samples taken from Jordan Lake following a reported incident involving two dogs last weekend.
The Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) has issued digester system general permits for qualified animal feeding operations. The general digester permits were developed following a comprehensive stakeholder and public engagement process and thorough review of public comments. These general permits are in effect through September 2024.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)’s Division of Water Resources has opened the public comment period for the reissuance of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permits for animal operations through July 15, 2022.
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), in cooperation with the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, City of Durham, Durham County, Town of Hillsborough and Orange County will be treating the Eno River for hydrilla beginning next week through August 31, 2022.
