This facility applies treated wastewater to adjacent spray fields, and has applied for coverage under the Swine Waste Management System NPDES General Permit (NCA200000; COC No. NCA251020).

Groundwater Quality Standards for the protection of groundwaters of the state are established by 15A NCAC 02L .0202. They are the maximum allowable concentrations resulting from any discharge of contaminants to the land or waters of the state, which may be tolerated without creating a threat to human health or which would otherwise render the groundwater unsuitable for its intended best usage as an existing or potential source of drinking water supply for humans.

The Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Resources (DWR) is providing public notice of a scheduled online public meeting and comment period concerning the applications for permits for four animal (swine) operations participating in a biogas processing project with Align RNG, LLC.

 

The permit modifications include three requests to install new in-ground, synthetically-lined and covered anaerobic digesters and one request to cover an existing synthetically-lined lagoon.
