REMINDER: State to host public meeting by web conference on July 23 for Currituck Banks Reserve Boardwalk repairs funding application

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) will host a public meeting by web conference on Thursday, July 23 at 10 a.m.

DCM is seeking public comment on its application for funding of the Currituck Banks Reserve Boardwalk – Replacement of Decking Boards by the Public Beach and Coastal Waterfront Access Grant Program for the 2020-21 grant cycle.  Members of the public may join the meeting by telephone or online and may register to speak during the meeting.

Living on a Barrier Island – A Virtual Workshop for Real Estate Professionals

This workshop will be held virtually via WebEx. The N.C. Real Estate Commission requires the workshop be held in one continuous block to qualify for continuing education credits.

Three North Carolina Coastal Reserve sites reopen to visitors on May 9

The N.C. Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve will reopen the Rachel Carson, Masonboro Island, and Bird Island Reserves to visitors on May 9, 2020 as North Carolina enters Phase 1 of the state’s plan of slowly easing certain COVID-19 restrictions.

State acquires 36 acres for Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve

The N.C. Division of Coastal Management has purchased 35.6 acres in Dare County to be added to the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve.
