The Emily and Richardson Preyer Buckridge Coastal Reserve site near Columbia reopened to visitors today after closure due to Hurricane Dorian.

The sites of the North Carolina Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve will close to visitors at dusk today until further notice due to the threat of damage from Hurricane Dorian and to protect public safety from the potential risk of downed trees, flooding and other hazards.

Join us to celebrate National Estuaries Week by cleaning up the beach at Masonboro Island on September 17th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will divide into teams to cover select portions of the island.

Shorebird nesting season is coming to a close and your help is needed to remove the postings on Masonboro Island.
