The Division of Marine Fisheries is hosting a series of public outreach meetings to provide updates and gather input on the development and implementation of an automated system that will be used to schedule observer trips for the estuarine anchored gill-net fishery in North Carolina. The Division is working with the N.C. Department of Information Technology to develop the Observer Trip Scheduling System (OTSS), which will begin testing this fall.
The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Carteret County at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 23. The hearing will be held in-person at the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries’ Central District Office, 5285 Highway 70 West, Morehead City and by WebEx.
The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries began renewing commercial fishing, seafood dealer, and for-hire licenses and permits today.
The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries is conducting a survey to collect information and input to improve its engagement strategies.
The five advisory committees to the N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission are scheduled to meet in April to discuss various fisheries topics. The meetings will be held in person and live-streamed on YouTube.
