MEDIA ADVISORY: Marine Fisheries Commission to meet Aug. 25-26 by web conference

The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission will meet by web conference Aug. 25-26. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 26.

Division of Marine Fisheries accepting applications for CARES Act II Fisheries Relief Program

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will begin accepting applications Monday, Aug. 16, for the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act (CARES Act II) Fisheries Relief Program. The financial assistance is available to eligible commercial fishermen and marine aquaculture operators, seafood dealers and processors, and for-hire fishing operators who can document a greater than 35% revenue loss in 2020 compared to the previous five-year average due to COVID-19.

MEDIA ADVISORY: Marine Fisheries Standard Commercial Fishing License Eligibility Board to meet

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries Standard Commercial Fishing License Eligibility Board will meet by teleconference at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 14. The board will consider license applications that are deemed complete and submitted by Sept. 13.

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a workshop at 6 p.m. Aug. 10 with the Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan Advisory Committee to review draft Amendment 3 to the Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan.
