Local governments in the 20-county coastal area are invited to apply for funding for projects that are anticipated to begin Dec. 15 and to be completed by June 2023.

The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) Science Panel will meet Nov. 7 by web conference to conduct its annual review of new sea level rise studies and information. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. The public may join the meeting by computer or phone.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a community information meeting on Tuesday, November 29, at the Community Center in Riegelwood Community Park.



DEQ will share updates on private well sampling underway for PFAS contamination in Columbus, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties.  Staff will also answer questions from the public about the private well sampling and alternate water supplies.
