The state Secretaries’ Science Advisory Board will meet on Monday, December 6, via WebEx. The public is invited to attend the meeting online or by phone. DEQ staff will provide updates about the Environmental Protection Agency’s PFAS Roadmap as it relates to the North Carolina Emerging Contaminant Framework as well as recent regulatory efforts. There will also be a presentation from the EPA about its recent GenX Toxicity Assessment.
RALEIGH – State and federal officials together with Multistate Trust representatives will hold two community meetings regarding the Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp – Navassa Superfund site on Tuesday, December 7. Topics will include the upcoming Operable Unit 2 excavation and related work, ongoing investigations and reuse planning.

The North Carolina Division of Coastal Management has received nearly $546 thousand dollars as one of 49 new grants awarded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Emergency Coastal Resilience Fund 2021 grant cycle. The funds will be used to enhance the resilience of North Carolina’s coastal communities and natural resources by supporting local planning and pre-construction activities.
