Town of Oriental, Pamlico County, has applied to renew NPDES permit for the Town of Oriental Water Treatment Plant [NC0088447] discharging filter-backwash wastewater to Whittaker Creek, Neuse River Basin.  Currently total residual chlorine (TRC) is water-quality limited.  This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of Whittaker Creek.
