N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES STORMWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NCS000580 AND #NCS000581

Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC has applied for a NPDES permit to discharge stormwater from each of the following power plants:

Mayo Steam Electric Generating Plant, 10660 Boston Rd., Roxboro, N.C., Person County. The facility discharges to Mayo Reservoir in the Roanoke River basin.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public hearing to accept comments on the draft NPDES wastewater permit for Duke Energy Progress LLC's Dan River Steam station. The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wed., Aug. 31 at the Eden City Hall, 308 East Stadium Dr., Eden, N.C. Speaker registration begins at 5 p.m.
