This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to Shallowbag Bay, a class SC water in the Pasquotank River Basin. Some of the parameters in the permit are water quality limited. The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries held a public hearing on a proposed shellfish lease in Pamlico County at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 20. The hearing was conducted in person at the Pamlico County Courthouse in Bayboro.
The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will begin accepting public comment Dec. 18, 2023 on proposed management to address sustainable harvest in the striped mullet fishery. The public comment period will close Jan. 17, 2024.
