The City of Sanford [ P.O. Box 3729 Sanford, NC 27331] has requested a renewal of NPDES permit NC0024147 for its Big Buffalo WWTP in Lee County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to the Deep River in the Cape Fear River Basin. Currently CBOD, total suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen and total phosphorous are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Cape Fear Basin.
