N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0086169
Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by May 13, 2026, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
Permit Application:
Corning, Inc., P.O. Box 1700, Concord, N.C., has applied for renewal of its NPDES wastewater permit (NC0086169) for its Concord facility, 14556 Highway 601 South, Cabarrus County. The facility discharges industrial wastewater and stormwater to Clear Creek and the Rocky River in the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin. Some parameters are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River Basin.
The location of Outfall 002 is: Latitude: 35.20944°; Longitude: 80.52528°. The location of Outfall 003 is: Latitude: 35.20278°; Longitude: 80.49694°.
