N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT NO. NC0003760
Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by August 17, 2026, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
PERMIT APPLICATION
Covation Biomaterials Kinston Plant, located at 4693 Highway 11 North, Grifton, NC 28530, has requested renewal of NPDES wastewater permit NC0003760 for its Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Lenoir County. The facility discharges treated process wastewater, treated sanitary wastewater, treated non-process condensate, treated non-contact cooling water, treated boiler blowdown, treated groundwater, treated landfill leachate, treated stormwater, and uncontaminated potable water to the Neuse River, a Class C; NSW water in the Neuse River Basin. Some parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Neuse River.
