PUBLIC NOTICE
N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0001589
Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by November 5, 2026, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
PERMIT APPLICATION
Hospira, Inc, 4285 N. Wesleyan Blvd., Rocky Mount, N.C., has applied for a renewal of its NPDES wastewater permit (NC0001589) for its Rocky Mount facility, 4285 N. Wesleyan Blvd., Rocky Mount, Nash County. The facility discharges treated industrial wastewater to Beech Branch, and unnamed tributary to Beech Branch in the Tar-Pamlico River basin. Some parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Tar-Pamlico River basin.
The location of Outfall 001 is: Latitude: 361’°55.1”; Longitude: 77°45’38.2”, the location of Outfall 002 is: 36°1’9.3”; Longitude: 77°45’39.1”.
