INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0089516
Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by July 17, 2026, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
PERMIT APPLICATION
Perdue AgriBusiness LLC/ Cofield Facility, 242 Perdue Road, Cofield, NC 27922, has requested a renewal of NPDES wastewater permit (NC0089516) for its Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Hertford County. The facility discharges non-contact cooling water, boiler blowdown, and reverse osmosis (RO) reject water to an unnamed tributary to Deep Creek, a Class C, NSW water in the Chowan River Basin. Some parameters are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of Deep Creek.
