N.C. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT #NC0033227
Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All comments received by April 6, 2026, will be considered in the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
Permit Application:
TE Connectivity Corporation, 1396 Charlotte Highway, Fairview, NC 28730, has requested renewal of NPDES wastewater discharge permit NC0033227 for its Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Buncombe County. The facility discharges industrial wastewater and remediated groundwater to Cane Creek, a Class C-Trout water in the French Broad River Basin. Some parameters are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future waste load allocations in this portion of Cane Creek.
The locations of the outfalls are as follows:
• Outfall 001: Latitude 35°31'30.11" N; Longitude 82°24'11.30" W
• Outfall 004: Latitude 35°31'29.67" N; Longitude 82°24'11.36" W
