Environmental Assessment Funding Grant (MARC Grant)

In Spring 2022, EPA awarded the DEQ Brownfields Redevelopment Section a $2 million MARC grant to complete site  assessments in three historically disadvantaged areas of the state. DEQ will use these  grant funds for environmental assessments, reuse planning, community engagement, and grant management.  

Five priority sites were identified in the grant application; however, additional sites will be selected on a rolling basis through staff outreach to from communities in the identified regions. Throughout the five-year grant cycle (closeout by September 2027), the DEQ Brownfields Redevelopment Section will work with our partner communities and contractors to complete these tasks and encourage productive reuse within disadvantaged communities.
