Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazards Workshop

  • Continuing Education Credits:
    • AICP will receive 6 CMs.
    • Certified Floodplain Managers will recieve 5 continuing education credits.
    • NC Landscape Architects will receive 6.75 continuing education credits (pending approval).

This is a two-part workshop. Part 1 is a self-paced online module that covers the basics, which will be emailed to you around January 15. This must be completed prior to attending Part 2, the in-person workshop on January 29 where you will interact with peers and local experts.

Workshop Objectives - Participants will:

  • Describe how green or natural infrastructure contributes to reducing the impacts of hazards and building resilience; 
  • Analyze factors for consideration when choosing and planning green or natural infrastructure projects, including hazard reduction benefits, co-benefits, design, maintenance, and cost; 
  • Identify and assess approaches for successful implementation, including planning, funding, partners, and stakeholder engagement; and 
  • Identify green or natural infrastructure local projects and connect with local experts who can provide additional information and guidance.
