Notice of Intent to Issue an NPDES Wastewater Permit No. NC0028711-Berryhill Elementary School WWTP 
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue an NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publication date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit the DWR at 512 N. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education [3301 Stafford Dr, Charlotte, NC 28208 ] has requested renewal of NPDES permit NC0028711 for its Berryhill Elementary School WWTP in Mecklenburg County. This permitted facility discharges 100% domestic wastewater into the Catawba River (Lake Wylie) in the Catawba River Basin. Currently, ammonia nitrogen, fecal coliform bacteria, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and total residual chlorine are water quality-limited parameters. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Catawba River (Lake Wylie). (The Public Notice is scheduled to run in the Charlotte Observer on 6/3/26.)
