Notice of Intent to Issue an NPDES Wastewater Permit No. NC0029297-Fred T. Foard High School
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue an NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publication date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the address above. Additionally, interested persons may visit DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604 to review information on file. Additional details on NPDES permits and this notice may be found at: https://deq.nc.gov/public-notices-hearings or by calling (919) 707-3601.Catawba County Schools [PO Box 1010, Newton, NC 28658] has requested renewal of NPDES Permit No. NC0029297 for its Fred T. Foard High School WWTP in Catawba County. This permitted facility discharges 100% domestic wastewater into Potts Creek in the Catawba River Basin. Currently, ammonia nitrogen, fecal coliform, and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the receiving stream.
