Notice of Intent to Issue an NPDES Wastewater Permit No. NC0029572 – Farmville WWTP
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue an NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publication date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the above address. Interested persons may visit DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604, to review the information on file. The Town of Farmville [PO Box 86, Farmville, NC 27828] has requested a major modification of NPDES Permit No. NC0029572 for its Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Pitt County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal wastewater to Little Contentnea Creek, classified as Class C-Sw; NSW waters in the Neuse River Basin. Currently, benthos is water-quality-limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of Little Contentnea Creek. (Public Notice is scheduled to be published in The Daily Reflector on 3/24/26.)
