Notice of Intent to Issue an NPDES Wastewater Permit No. NC0036935 -Pine Mountain Lakes WWTP
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue an NPDES wastewater discharge permit to the person(s) listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permit will be accepted until 30 days after the publication date of this notice. The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing if there is a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the address above. Interested persons may also visit DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604, to review the information on file. The Pine Mountain Property Owners Association has applied to renew NPDES Permit No. NC0036935 for the Pine Mountain Lakes WWTP (off Wards Gap Road (NCSR 1901), Connelly Springs, NC 28612) in Burke County. This facility discharges into Jacob Fork in the Catawba River Basin. Currently, fecal coliform and total residual chlorine are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in Jacob Fork. (Public Notice is scheduled to be published in the Morganton News Herald on 5/7/26.)
