Notice of Intent to Issue NPDES Wastewater Permits for Chatham County Schools
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission
proposes to issue NPDES wastewater discharge permits to the persons listed
below. Written comments regarding the proposed permits will be accepted until
30 days after the publication date of this notice. The Director of the NC
Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing should there be a
significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information
requests to DWR at the address listed above. Interested persons may visit DWR
at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604, to review the information on
file. Additional information on NPDES permits and this notice may be found on

Chatham County Schools requested renewal of permit NC0039331 for the Bonlee Elementary
School WWTP (153 Bonlee School Rd, Bear Creek, NC 27207) in Chatham County. The
facility discharges treated domestic wastewater to an unnamed tributary to Bear
Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. Currently, BOD, ammonia nitrogen, dissolved
oxygen, and fecal coliform are water quality limited. This discharge may affect
future allocations in this portion of Bear Creek.

High School WWTP (14950 NC Hwy 902 W, Bear Creek, NC 27207) in Chatham County.
The facility discharges treated domestic wastewater to an unnamed tributary to
Bear Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. Currently, BOD, ammonia nitrogen,
dissolved oxygen, and fecal coliform are water quality limited. This discharge
may affect future allocations in this portion of Bear Creek.
