NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE NPDES WASTEWATER PERMITS FOR PAMLICO COUNTY
The North Carolina Environmental Management Commission proposes to issue NPDES wastewater discharge permits to the persons listed below. Written comments regarding the proposed permits will be accepted until 30 days after the publication date of this notice.
The Director of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) may hold a public hearing if there is a significant degree of public interest. Please mail comments and/or information requests to DWR at the address above. Interested persons may also visit DWR at 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27604, to review the information on file. NC0088323 – GRANTSBORO WTP
Pamlico County has applied to renew NPDES Permit NC0088323 for the Grantsboro Water Treatment Plant (NC Hwy 306 South) in Pamlico County. This facility discharges to an unnamed tributary to Beard Creek in the Neuse River Basin. Currently, Total Copper and Total Chloride are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of Beard Creek.
NC0088331 – KERSHAW WTP
Pamlico County has applied to renew NPDES Permit NC0088331 for the Kershaw Water Treatment Plant (4116 Kershaw Road) in Pamlico County. This facility discharges to an unnamed tributary to Tarkiln Creek in the Neuse River Basin. Currently, Total Copper, Total Zinc, and Total Chloride are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of Tarkiln Creek.
NC0088340-MILL POND WTP
Pamlico County has applied to renew NPDES Permit NC0088340 for the Mill Pond Water Treatment Plant (601 North 3rd Street) in Pamlico County. This facility discharges to an unnamed tributary to the North Prong Bay River in the Neuse River Basin. Currently, Total Copper, Total Zinc, and Total Chloride are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of the North Prong Bay River.
NC0088358 – VANDEMERE WTP
Pamlico County has applied to renew NPDES Permit NC0088358 for the Vandemere Water Treatment Plant (286 NC Hwy 307) in Pamlico County. This facility discharges to an unnamed tributary to Smith Creek in the Neuse River Basin. Currently, Total Copper, Total Zinc, and Total Chloride are water-quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of Smith Creek.
