RE:          Individual Water Quality 401 Certification for Sibelco North America, Inc, – Ollis Waste Site Expansion; DWR Project #20201025 Ver 2

I.    Public Notice; Individual Water Quality Permit for Sibelco North America Inc; DWR # 20201025 v. 2 
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that on July 5th, 2021 Sibelco North America Inc, (136 Crystal Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777) applied to the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) for an Individual 401 Water Quality Certification pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0500. The activity for which this certification is sought regards expansion of an existing waste area at the Brushy Creek Mine. The DWR’s proposed date of final action on the application is October 12, 2021. 

Written comments on the application described above must be received by DWR no later than 5 p.m. on September 29, 2021. Written comments may be submitted online by filling out the Public Notice Comment Form here: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/401_Public_Notice_Comments. Written comments may also be mailed to: Sue Homewood, DWR Winston Salem Regional Office, 450 W. Hanes Mill Rd, Winston Salem, NC 27105.

The application is available online at https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/WaterResources/Browse.aspx?id=1796860&dbid=0&repo=WaterResources.  The application is also available at the Winston Salem Regional Office of the DWR and may be inspected with an appointment between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays.
