The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority [235 Government Center Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403] has requested renewal of NPDES Permit NC0023973 for its M'Kean Maffitt (Southside) WWTP, located in New Hanover County. This permitted facility discharges treated municipal and industrial wastewater to the Cape Fear River, a class SC-PNA water in the Cape Fear River Basin. Some of the parameters in the permit are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this segment of the Cape Fear River.
