Division of Water Infrastructure announces Fall 2025 funding application training at six locations statewide

The Division of Water Infrastructure will conduct its Fall 2025 Funding Application Training July 29 – Aug. 8 at six locations statewide*, including an Aug. 8 virtual option that will be recorded and posted on the Division’s website.

2025 recreational flounder season will open Sept. 1-14

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries today announced that the 2025 recreational flounder season will open in Coastal and Joint waters of the state Sept. 1 at 12:01 a.m. and close Sept. 14 at 11:59 p.m.

MountainTrue partners with NCDEQ to launch western North Carolina river debris cleanup program

MountainTrue, a nonprofit conservation organization serving western North Carolina, is partnering with the NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) to launch a comprehensive River Debris Cleanup Program to address ongoing impacts from Tropical Storm Helene.

NCDEQ Division of Water Resources to hold public hearing on water quality impacts from Mountain Valley Pipeline proposal

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) will hold a public hearing on Aug. 12 in order to hear public comment on Mountain Valley Pipeline’s LLC application for a 401 water quality certification related to the proposed construction of 5.2 miles of a high pressure, steel, natural gas transmission pipeline in Rockingham County.
