DEQ extends Chemours proposed consent order comment period to Jan. 7

State environmental officials have extended the public comment period for a proposed consent order between the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality, Cape Fear River Watch and Chemours Company FC, LLC. The new deadline for submitting comments on the draft order is Jan. 7, 2019.

DEQ will fully address the comments it has received at the close of the comment period. In the interim, the department has prepared a fact sheet to address misconceptions regarding the proposed consent order. Comments on the proposed consent order may be submitted electronically to comments.chemours@ncdenr.gov. Comments may also be submitted by mail to: Assistant Secretary’s Office, Attn: Chemours Public Comments, 1601 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1601.
