The NC Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources is accepting comments on proposed rule changes related to its dam safety program, and will hold multiple public hearings in September to receive feedback.
The proposed rule changes are part of the periodic rule and readoption process under that state’s 02K rules, which are readopted every 10 years. In addition to three public hearings, public comments on the proposed rule adoptions and the associated Regulatory Impact Analysis will be accepted in writing between Aug. 17- Oct. 16.
Three public hearings will be held to receive comments:
- When: Sept. 14, 5 p.m. -7:30 p.m.
- Where: Kinston-Lenoir Library Auditorium, 510 N. Queen St., Kinston, NC 28501
- Sign-in will begin 30 minutes prior to the hearing
- When: Sept. 16, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Where: Catawba County Library – St. Stephens Branch, 3225 Springs Rd NE, Hickory, NC 28601
- Sign-in will begin 30 minutes prior to the hearing
- When: Sept. 22, 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Where: Ground Floor Hearing Room, DEQ Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh 27604
- Sign-in will begin 30 minutes prior to the hearing
