Visitors to the Raleigh Regional Office of the NC Department of Environmental Quality will need to go to a new address beginning next week, as part of a larger series of changes to the Department’s facilities.
The Raleigh Regional Office will relocate to 4407 Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh effective Sept. 1. In-person appointments will be held at this office moving forward. The move is part of an expansion to allow DEQ to host public meetings and provide additional lab space. In February 2025, DEQ broke ground on its Reedy Creek Lab Campus renovation and expansion project, making space for the department’s Raleigh Regional Office staff from across divisions. The facility previously only housed staff with the divisions of Air Quality and Water Resources.
The new campus is expected to be Green Globes certified, meaning it demonstrates significant achievement in resource efficiency, reduces environmental impacts and improves occupant wellness.
The new, 36,000-square-foot building and 51,000 square feet of lab renovations will feature a new hearing room for public meetings, energy-efficient walls and windows, a depolluting roofing system, high-efficiency HVAC systems, sustainable building materials and photovoltaic arrays that will provide 33% of the building’s electricity needs.
