The NC Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) #16-101362-000 seeking a qualified contractor to update the North Carolina Beach and Inlet Management Plan (BIMP), a comprehensive management tool for the state’s 320 miles of oceanfront beaches and 19 active tidal inlets.
The selected contractor will provide expertise in the management and study of beaches, inlets and coastal processes to update the current BIMP, which was last updated in 2016. The intent of the solicitation is to award an Agency Specific Contract. To access the RFP and additional information, click here.
DCM is committed to the long-term conservation and management of North Carolina’s beaches and inlets. The updated plan will assist DEQ, as well as other state and federal regulatory agencies, by providing historical context and guidance for future beach and inlet management needs.
Previous versions and updates of the Beach and Inlet Management Plan (BIMP) and additional information about the BIMP are available on the Division of Coastal Management website.
A detailed schedule, timeline and contact information are available within the Request for Proposal.
