Blue Crab peer review workshop concludes early

The NC Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries’ (DMF) peer review workshop for the Blue Crab stock assessment ended today. The workshop session that was scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow has been cancelled.

The panel of experts reviewing the stock assessment requested that DMF stock assessment scientists explore additional data analyses and potential model changes that will take longer than a single day to accomplish. The DMF will schedule a second peer review workshop in early 2027 once the additional analysis is completed.
