The NC Marine Fisheries Commission chairman has removed the presentation and scheduled vote pertaining to Blue Crab management options from this week’s commission meeting agenda. The Division of Marine Fisheries is sharing this agenda change so members of the public may adjust their plans, if needed.

The North Carolina Sedimentation Control Commission will meet in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building in Raleigh at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2025. Members of the public may attend in-person or join the meeting by computer or phone.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) has been notified of elevated 1,4-dioxane levels discharged from the City of Asheboro Wastewater Treatment Plant to Hasketts Creek, which drains into the Deep River within the Cape Fear River Basin.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management Coastal Reserve and National Estuarine Research Reserve will hold fall local advisory committee meetings Nov. 5 - 18 for the following reserve sites. All meetings are open to the public.

The State Energy Office, within the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), reported that efforts to reduce energy consumption in state-owned buildings have saved taxpayers more than $196 million in the year covering July 2023 to June 2024.
