The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality invites the public to comment on the first draft of the state’s draft swine waste management system general permit (AWG100000). Comments will be accepted on this version of the permit until December 21, 2018, which will inform the next draft of the permit.

The N.C . Department of Environmental Quality’s Secretary Michael S. Regan released the following statement on the Incidental Harassment Authorizations (IHAs) that were issued today by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to five companies for seismic testing off of North Carolina’s coast.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has determined that Duke Energy has met the low-risk classification criteria set forth in the Coal Ash Management Act (CAMA) for coal combustion residuals surface impoundments located at Duke Energy’s Allen, Belews Creek, Buck, Rogers (formerly Cliffside), Marshall, Mayo, and Roxboro facilities.
