The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission will meet by web conference on March 18 beginning at 1 p.m. The public may listen to the meeting by phone or listen and view presentations online. RALEIGH – State and federal officials together with Multistate Trust representatives will hold two online public meetings regarding the Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp – Navassa Superfund site on Tuesday, March 23. Topics will include Operable Unit 1 update, recent and upcoming sampling activities, work progress and plans for 2021, utility line construction, and property conveyance process.

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) is seeking public input on a draft permit for Optima TH to operate a gas upgrading system and flare in Tar Heel, NC. 

The State Water Infrastructure Authority will meet Wednesday, March 10 at 9:00 a.m., remotely, via teleconference. The public may listen to the meeting by phone.

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing by web conference on proposed shellfish leases in Dare County at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 13.

The 2021 recreational flounder season will open Aug. 16 and close Sept. 30 for internal and ocean waters of the state, as prescribed by Amendment 2 to the Southern Flounder Fishery Management Plan. Amendment 3 is currently underway and could impact the open season.
