The Department of Environmental Quality recently issued two draft National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits for CPI USA North Carolina, LLC to discharge wastewater and stormwater from its Southport Power Plant, located at 1281 Powerhouse Drive in Southport.

RALEIGH - The public comment period on an air permit application from Active Energy Renewable Power in Lumberton has been extended to Friday, March 27. 

The public hearing to gather comments on Biltmore Farms, LLC water quality certification, scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, has been cancelled based on the current guidance that gatherings of over 100 people should be avoided to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. The Division of Water Resources will explore additional methods to safely provide information during the public comment period.

RALEIGH – The public hearings scheduled for revised log fumigation rules on Tuesday, March 17 in Raleigh and on Wednesday, March 18 in Wilmington, have been postponed based on the current guidance to avoid gatherings of over 100 people to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.

RALEIGH – The public meeting scheduled for Active Energy Renewable Power on Monday, March 16, at the Bill Sapp Recreation Center has been cancelled based on the current guidance to avoid gatherings of over 100 people to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.  

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Carteret County on April 15 at 6 p.m.
