DEQ Biologists Discover New Species, Improve Precision of Water Quality Classifications

DEQ biologists have discovered new species of macroinvertebrates by collecting samples of aquatic animals that live on the bottom of streams & rivers. They sample for these critters because their presence –or lack of it– is an indicator of the health of the water they live in.
