RELEASE: DAQ assesses penalty of over $300,000 for Chemours Violations

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has assessed $305,611 in penalties in the recent enforcement action against Chemours for exceeding the facility wide GenX annual air emissions limit.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has issued air permits for Ecolab, Inc. in New Hanover County and Flowers Timber Company Inc. in Wayne County.

REMINDER: Public comment period ends today (September 7) for Draft Phase 2 Volkswagen Mitigation Plan

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality invites public comment on the state’s plan to invest $67 million in Volkswagen Settlement funds. The Draft Phase 2 Mitigation plan focuses on efforts to reduce pollution impacts while incentivizing zero emission vehicles and increasing outreach to under-resourced communities.
