Duke Energy has made a request to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for a variance to extend the Coal Ash Management Act closure deadline by six months for the Sutton Coal Ash facility located at:

The public meeting will be held at the Cape Fear Community College on January 14, 2019.

APNEP Science & Technical Advisory Committee Meeting

September 12, 2018, 2pm - 7pm

The Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership's (APNEP's) Science and Technical Advisory Committee is meeting on September 12th in Beaufort, North Carolina. The meeting will focus primarily on the list of ecological indicators that APNEP's Monitoring and Assessment Teams have been developing, as well as discussion about mariculture activities in the estuary.
