The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality is inviting public feedback on rules being drafted by the state agency to better protect public health and the environment when coal ash wastes are disposed of and recycled.

DEQ has scheduled three meetings in February to gather public comments on the draft state rules. The third of the three meetings will be held at 6 p.m. at:

Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC is proposing to construct one compressor station and install about 186 miles of 36-inch transmission pipeline in Northampton, Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston, Sampson, Cumberland and Robeson counties.
