Public Scoping Period March 13 to 24 on Spotted Seatrout Fishery Management Plan

The Division of Marine Fisheries is developing Amendment 1 to the N.C. Spotted Seatrout Fishery Management Plan (FMP). The division will hold a public scoping period March 13 to 24 to solicit input on potential management strategies for the upcoming amendment and discuss stakeholder priorities.

Marine Fisheries Commission Quarterly Business Meeting

The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission will meet in-person Feb. 22-24 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New Bern Riverfront, 100 Middle St., New Bern. The meeting will also be livestreamed on YouTube.

N.C. Sedimentation Control Commission February 2023 meeting

The N.C. Sedimentation Control Commission will meet in the Ground Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building, 512 N. Salisbury St. in Raleigh, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m., and the public may join in person, by webinar or by phone.

The N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Commercial Resource Fund Committee and the Funding Committee for the N.C. Commercial Fishing Resource Fund will meet jointly at 6 p.m. on December 8.

Pender County Community Information Meeting

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a community information meeting on Tuesday, February 28, at Heide Trask Senior High School Auditorium in Rocky Point. DEQ will share updates on private well sampling underway for PFAS contamination in Columbus, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. Staff will also answer questions from the public about the private well sampling and alternate water supplies.
