The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a community information meeting on Tuesday, February 28, at Heide Trask Senior High School Auditorium in Rocky Point. DEQ will share updates on private well sampling underway for PFAS contamination in Columbus, New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. Staff will also answer questions from the public about the private well sampling and alternate water supplies.
The North Carolina Oil and Gas Commission will meet in the Ground Floor Training Room of the Green Square building, 217 W. Jones St., Raleigh, 27603, on Feb. 7, 2023. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m.
At this virtual stakeholder meeting and listening session, the public is invited to learn more about the Advanced Clean Trucks program and discuss their ideas and questions with DEQ staff.

Purpose: To receive comments on the proposed amendments to eighteen rules in 15A NCAC, Subchapters 02D and 02Q, to allow electronic submittal of documents. Also, to receive comment on the accompanying regulatory impact analysis for the proposed amendments.

The Secretary’s Environmental Justice and Equity Advisory Board will hold its quarterly business meeting in-person on February 9 at 3 p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend in-person or online.
