The Department of Environmental Quality’s State Energy Office is accepting annual applications for community action agencies, nonprofits and public entities to join the federally funded NC Weatherization Assistance Program’s network of subgrantees for State Fiscal Year 2026-2027 (FY27). Subgrantees install energy conservation measures in eligible low-income homes across the entire state to reduce energy burden and carbon emissions.
Geographic: This RFP is for weatherization services in the following areas, and the counties cannot be separated out for purposes of this RFP:
Area A - Gates, Camden, Pasquotank, Currituck, Chowan, Perquimans, Washington, Tyrell, Dare & Hyde
Area B - Rockingham, Caswell, Person, Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance, Davidson, Randolph
Application information is available here. Applications will be accepted until 2 p.m., May 4, 2026. Selected subgrantees will be announced via public notice no later than May 15, 2026, and incorporated into the FY27 NC Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan effective July 1, 2026.
