State Announces $238M for Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Projects Statewide

Governor Roy Cooper announced today that communities statewide will receive more than 238 million in water and wastewater infrastructure funding and stormwater planning grants to help pay for 114 projects in 52 counties statewide, including 28 construction projects.

DEQ to hold hearing on proposal for PFAS lab certification rule

DEQ's Division of Water Resources will hold a public hearing March 20 on a proposed rule change that would allow DWR to certify laboratories to test for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS.

The Coastal Resources Advisory Council (CRAC) will meet Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Following the CRAC meeting DEQ will kick off the 50th Anniversary of the N.C. Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) at 1:30 p.m.

DEQ seeking water quality restoration proposals through May 6

The N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources is now accepting proposals through the Clean Water Act-Section 319 (h) Nonpoint Source Grant Funding Program for projects seeking to restore waters in North Carolina impaired by nonpoint source pollution.

Mining permit issued for Fuquay Quarry 

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR) has approved a modification to the mining permit for Fuquay Quarry.
